The Chinese automobile company Geely International Corporation is the official exporter of Geely vehicles. We have already introduced you to one sedan of this brand - Vision, now we will tell you about Geely MK.
It is a B-sized sedan with a 4-cylinder and 16-valve engine. Its engine capacity is 1.5 liters, and the power is 94 hp. The maximum speed that Geely MK is capable of is 165 km / h.
According to unofficial data, the engine for this sedan is produced using Toyota technology. According to the manufacturer itself, this car was designed and developed by them independently for buyers of any level of income, taking into account all their basic requirements and wishes.
The appearance of the Geely MK car has its own unique features, which favorably distinguishes it from many cars made in China, which are often followed by attempts to copy the characteristic design details of popular brands of competitors (you don't have to go far for an example - just look at the already mentioned Vision).
Initially, the Geely MK car was produced in the following trim levels - Base, Comfort and Elegance. In the interior, all three configurations assumed the presence of: an air filter in the cabin, an air conditioning system that allows you to distribute air flows to the rear seat passengers, interior lighting with the "intelligence" function, the front seats are heated, the steering wheel is trimmed with leather, the inner door handles are made of chrome, the gas tank flap as well as the trunk can be opened from the passenger compartment.
The Base package did not include steering column tilt adjustment. Only in Elegance was the interior upholstery in leather, the other two - in fabric. The rear seats fold 3: 2, thus providing access to the trunk from the passenger compartment, this allows you to transport loads up to 2 meters long. Information signs are located in the center of the dashboard.
The exterior of the Elegance equipment option boasts R15 alloy wheels. All three trim levels featured chrome door handles, side mirrors, and both front and rear bumpers painted in body color.
Geely MK Base initially lacked the ABS & EBD anti-lock braking system, which allows it to maintain stability and facilitate driving in difficult braking conditions. There were no power windows for 4 windows, a front passenger airbag, and an electric sunroof with two opening levels and an automatic closing system when the car was armed.
All trim levels had: driver's airbag, height-adjustable front and rear (for three) seat belts, which reduce the risk of injury to the driver and passengers in an accident. The belts are equipped with a “reminder” indicator of the need for passengers and the driver to buckle up. The steering column Geely MK is injury-free.
There are also fog lights that improve visibility, LED turn indicators on the side rear-view mirrors. The body has an anti-corrosion coating. Central locking, equipped with a remote control system, wipers have speed regulation, alarm.
We list all this for those who may be faced with the need to purchase Geely MK "first years". Then the expediency of choosing the Comfort configuration in front of the Base was obvious, despite the fact that the difference of several tens of thousands of rubles was compensated by increased safety combined with comfort, and the Elegance option only offered an improvement in the "appearance" (such as, for example, leather trim, and not with a cloth). But since the Geely MK car is positioned as a budget car, there is not much sense in these improvements.
Later, the Geely MK sedan began to be offered only in two trim levels - Base and Comfort, which are essentially identical. In short - in terms of completeness of equipment, they now correspond to the previously available configuration of Elegance, with the exception of the "leather interior". And the only difference between Base and Comfort is an additional front passenger airbag in the latter (well, and a slight difference in price).
By the way, the interior of the Geely MK car and its dashboard are extremely ergonomic, on the verge of simplicity, but quite functional. The driver's seat and the location of the steering wheel, as in almost all Chinese cars, are not designed for a person taller than 180-190 centimeters, who is unlikely to feel comfortable enough.
During the test drive of the Geely MK, a very noticeable engine noise was found in the cabin, the acceleration dynamics of this sedan is average. But the suspension of the Geely MK car provides good smoothness and softness of the ride.
