The second "edition" of the five-door was first shown to the public on October 19, 2017 as part of a special event that took place at the company's design center in Ingolstadt.

If outwardly, after the “change of generations”, the car went along the evolutionary direction of development, then a significant part of the “filling” was borrowed from the latest generation A8 sedan, showing progress in the chassis, power plants and electronics.

The Audi A7 Sportback of the second incarnation looks attractive, incredibly energetic and truly "purebred".

Full face liftback catches the eye with swept headlights with a fully LED component, a hexagonal "shield" of the radiator grille and a "faceted" bumper; and from the rear, it literally mesmerizes with spectacular lights connected by an LED jumper and visually expanding the car, and a "puffy" bumper with figured exhaust pipes.

In profile, the five-door demonstrates balanced and swift outlines - they are emphasized by a long hood, a sloping roof that flows into a small branch of the trunk, expressive "splashes" on the sidewalls and "muscular" wheel arches.

In addition, the "German" is offered a tuning package "S-Line", which makes its appearance even more sporty: it includes an original body kit with more "evil" bumpers and door sills, as well as wheels of a unique design.

The "second" Audi A7 Sportback in terms of its dimensions belongs to the E-segment according to the European classification: it stretches 4969 mm in length, 1908 mm in width, and does not exceed 1422 mm in height. A base of 2926 mm fits between the pairs of wheels of the car.

The interior of the “seven” is designed in the same vein as the “older” model Audi A8 and is devoid of any buttons and joysticks, and the control of all functions is assigned to the touch screens.

The center console, in a sporty manner turned towards the driver, is decorated with two touch panels: the upper 10.1-inch monitor controls infotainment functions, and the lower 8.6-inch screen is responsible for the climate, car settings and other auxiliary systems.

Behind the embossed multifunction steering wheel with a four-spoke rim, a configurable 12.3-inch display is installed instead of the usual instruments.

Inside the five-door, exclusively premium finishing materials are used - expensive plastics, aluminum, high-quality leatherette and a few types of "thoroughbred" leather.

In the front of the second-generation Audi A7 Sportback, there are excellent seats with optimal filling density, pronounced side profile, a lot of adjustments, massage, heating and ventilation.

The layout of the second row depends on the modification: it can be represented by two separate seats or a sofa with a seating arrangement "2 + 1" (but in this case, the average passenger will clearly feel superfluous).

With practicality, a full-size liftback has no problems - in its standard form, its trunk has the correct shape and is able to "absorb" up to 535 liters of luggage. "Galerka" folds into an absolutely flat cargo area, bringing the stock of free space to 1390 liters.

The fifth door is equipped with a servo drive, which can be activated by a kick under the bumper, and the necessary tool is neatly placed in a niche under the raised floor.

For the Russian market, under the hood of the "second" Audi A7 Sportback there is a 3.0-liter TFSI six-cylinder gasoline unit with a V-shaped architecture, direct fuel supply, a turbocharger, variable valve timing and a 24-valve timing structure, which produces 340 horsepower and 500 N · m of torque.

By default, the machine is equipped with Mild Hybrid technology, which is a belt-driven starter-generator that operates on a separate 48-volt network and allows the engine to be turned off in traffic jams and when driving at speeds from 55 to 160 km / h ...

"Seven" is equipped with a 7-speed preselective "robot" S tronic and all-wheel drive transmission quattro ultra with a pair of clutches, which, if necessary, transfer traction to the rear wheels.

From one place to the first "hundred" the five-door breaks down after 5.3 seconds, reaches the maximum mark of 250 km / h, and in the combined mode it consumes 6.8 liters of fuel for every 100 km of run.

It is worth noting that in the countries of the Old World for the car is also offered a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with turbocharging, battery "power" and a 24-valve timing, developing 286 hp. at 3500-4000 rpm and 620 Nm of peak potential at 2250-3000 rpm.

It mates with an 8-band "automatic" (with a torque converter) and quattro all-wheel drive system.

The Audi A7 Sportback of the second generation is based on a modular "bogie" with a longitudinally oriented power unit and a body made mainly of steel (with the exception of large outer panels - they are aluminum).

The machine is equipped with fully independent suspensions: a double wishbone system at the front, a multi-link layout at the rear. At the same time, several options for "walking" are available for it at once: with conventional steel springs, "sports" with a ground clearance truncated by 10 mm, adaptive "pneumatics" with conventional or electronically controlled shock absorbers.

In the "base", the liftback boasts an adaptive steering complex with a wave reduction gear and a braking system with ventilated discs on all wheels and a large number of electronic assistants.

For a surcharge, the five-door is equipped with a fully steerable chassis, in which the rear axle wheels deflect by more than five degrees, thereby improving maneuverability and increasing stability.


In the Russian market, the Audi A7 Sportback in 2018 is offered in four versions - Base, Advance, Sport and Design.

The car in the initial configuration costs a minimum of 4,320,000 rubles, and its equipment includes: six airbags, leather interior trim, fully LED optics, electric drive and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, automatic parking system, ERA-GLONASS technology, 18 -inch alloy wheels, ABS, ESP, TCS, cruise control, media center, audio system with ten speakers and "darkness" of other equipment.

For the "Advance" version, dealers ask from 4,550,000 rubles, the performance of "Sport" will cost from 4,780,000 rubles, and the "Design" modification is not cheaper than 4,990,000 rubles.

As for their differences, the first option additionally has a heated windshield and steering wheel, an electric steering column, a keyless entry system, a rear view camera and a wireless charger for the phone, the second one has an external S line body kit, door closers and sports seats, and the third one has a four-zone climate control, matrix headlights, multicontour front seats with ventilation and more.
