In April 2014, on the stage of the Beijing International Motor Show, the Chinese company Geely for the first time presented to the public an updated version of its popular sedan called Emgrand EC7, which has undergone not only visual, but also technical changes and, by the way, will be presented in Russia as Emgrand 7 (since the pre-styling model does not leave the Russian market).
In the local market, the car went on sale in the summer of the same year, and in the spring of 2016 it reached the Russian market.
After restyling, Emgrand 7 began to look more interesting, more modern and a little more solid - the four-door body of the car was ennobled with more spectacular lighting equipment, embossed bumpers with a bit of sportiness and wheel discs of a new design.
In terms of dimensions, the "Chinese" belongs to the D-class: its length is 4631 mm, width - 1789 mm, height - 1470 mm, the gap between the axes is 2650 mm. The clearance of the equipped vehicle does not exceed 167 mm.
The interior decoration of the updated version of the Geely Emgrand 7 makes a good impression not only with an attractive design with a four-spoke steering wheel, a visual "toolbox" and a European-style center console, but also with a decent level of performance.
Restyling had a positive effect on the level of internal comfort: ergonomic seats with a well-developed profile are installed for the front riders, and a hospitable sofa and an enviable amount of free space are assigned to the rear passengers.
The cargo capabilities of Emgrand 7 have not undergone any changes as a result of modernization - the car "flaunts" a huge luggage compartment with a capacity of 680 liters with a full-size "spare" in a niche under the raised floor.
Specifications. For Russian buyers, the "seven" from the Middle Kingdom is available with two atmospheric gasoline "fours" with an in-line configuration, multi-point injection technology and a 16-valve timing:
- "Junior" version - a 1.5-liter JLy-4G15 engine, the maximum recoil values of which are 106 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm
- The "senior" unit is the JLy-4G18 engine with a working volume of 1.8 liters, generating 129 "mares" and 170 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm.
Both "atmospheric" are combined with a 5-speed "manual" transmission and drive to the front axle, and the "top" one is also combined with a continuously variable variator. Depending on the modification, in the combined driving cycle the car consumes from 7.1 to 8.3 liters of fuel per “hundred” of the way.
Structurally, the restyled Emgrand 7 from Geely has not undergone any metamorphosis - it is based on a front-wheel drive chassis with MacPherson struts on the front axle and a semi-independent beam in the rear.
All wheels of the four-door are equipped with disc brakes with ABS and EBD, but its steering depends on the modification: the "junior" motor is accompanied by a hydraulic booster, and the "senior" - electric.
Options and prices. In the Russian market in 2016 for the Geely Emgrand 7 sedan there are three configurations - Standard, Comfort and Luxury.
- For the basic version, dealers ask for a minimum of 649,000 rubles, and the list of its equipment includes: a pair of front airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, air conditioning, heated front seats, a keyless entry system, power steering, "music" with four speakers, 15- inch steel rims and other equipment.
- "Full stuffing" is estimated at 799,000 rubles, and its features include: side airbags and curtain airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, climate control, "cruise", heated windshield, rear view camera, electric front seats, multifunction steering wheel, electric sunroof, 16-inch "rollers" made of light alloys and other "gadgets".
