In technical terms, the KIA coupe with the simple and at the same time catchy name KIA Cerato KOUP inherits the KIA Cerato sedan. The main work was aimed at creating a new and interesting look with already managed to become traditional corporate features.

The involvement of the German auto designer Peter Schreier in the project a few years ago was supposed to help KIA products get rid of the image of good, but uninteresting cars. It is Schreier who owe their design to all the latest innovations of the company. The Kia Serato coupe, in addition to recognizable corporate features, received more overall dynamics and aggression in the exterior design. Its main advantages are stylish appearance, good management and wealth of equipment.

The front part of the KIA Cerato KOUP coupe largely copies the Cerato soplatform sedan, differing only in the bumper with an increased air intake and a new design of black and silver rims (optional). The main differences need to be looked for at the back of the Kia Serato coupe - wide frameless doors, a completely different stern. The ground clearance was reduced to 140 mm, and the proportions of the length and height of the body gave the car a pronounced swiftness.
The dimensions of the KIA Serato coupe are 4480 mm in length, 1765 mm in width and 1400 mm in height. The salon is designed for 5 seats, its almost unchanged filling went to the debutant also from the KIA Cerato sedan.

However, inside, as befits a coupe, built on the basis of the previous sedan, it is noticeably closer. In the case of the KIA Cerato KOUP, even the wheelbase increased to 2650 mm could not solve this problem. A low seating position is inconvenient for tall front passengers (fraught with touching the headlining with the head), and especially for the rear ones (comfortable location only for children and people below average height, poor visibility through a small rear window that cannot be opened). Inside, a hint of sporty style is present only in trim levels with a combination of color upholstery, when the dashboard repeats the design of the upper part of the cabin, made in pale dark pink tones. For less expensive modifications, the interior is either black or with aluminum-look inserts. Luggage capacity is 440 liters.

If we talk about the technical characteristics of the KIA Cerato KOUP. Then for the front-wheel drive coupe KIA Cerato, two options for gasoline engines are offered, the same ones that are on the Cerato sedans. This is a 1.6-liter 126-horsepower engine with a maximum torque of 157 Nm, and a 2-liter 156-horsepower - 194 Nm. Both can be paired with a 5-speed "mechanics" or a 4-speed "automatic". A more powerful 173-horsepower 2.4-liter engine is planned to be added to the lineup later.
The independent front and semi-independent rear suspension for the KOUP is also carried over from the Cerato sedan with some modifications, although a slight tweak gives a firmer ride, overall demonstrating noticeable stiffness. The chassis holds the car well in corners and at high speeds, the steering response with the adaptive power steering is quite sharp. However, the test drive showed that, in general, the sporty appearance of the KIA Cerato KOUP is clearly deceiving, the car does not show outstanding and even noticeable dynamic qualities.

Options and prices for KIA Cerato KOUP. The KIA Serato coupe is offered in three configuration options: a 1.6 liter engine. - Comfort, 2 liters. - Luxe and Prestige. The filling even of the Comfort version in the base (such a KIA Cerato KOUP can be bought at a price of 679,900 rubles) is quite generous, it includes climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, power windows, MP3 radio, ESP, light sensor, 6 airbags , heated front sports seats. For the maximum configuration of the KIA Cerato KOUP Prestige with an automatic transmission, sports leather seats, an electric sunroof, a CD changer, an engine start button and 17-inch Prestige alloy wheels, they will ask for a price of 849,900 rubles.
