In December 2014, Audi made a preliminary presentation of the "charged" five-door hatchback Audi RS3 Sportback "second generation" (model index "8V"), which became the most powerful premium compact in the world. The official world premiere of this car took place in March 2015 at an exhibition in Geneva.

In February 2017, the Germans declassified a restyled version of the hot hatch - it was transformed externally and internally (based on the "brothers" in the family), received modern equipment that was not previously available and "armed" with a modernized five-cylinder engine - which made it a little faster.

The exterior of the Audi RS3 Sportback is made in the same style as the other "troikas" from Ingolstadt.

But, from the less powerful version of the "es-three", this hatchback differs by a different radiator grille with a high-gloss black mesh in the form of honeycomb and a large "quattro" lettering, a raised front bumper with an aggressive design, as well as modified exterior mirror housings.

At the rear, a large roof spoiler, a bumper with a diffuser and several oval exhaust pipes can be noted. Large 19-inch "rollers", dressed in special tires of 235/35 dimension, make the whole look of the car.

In terms of external dimensions, the "second" Audi RS3 corresponds to the "golf" class by European standards: the car is 4335 mm long, of which 2631 mm is the length of the wheelbase, the width is 1800 mm, and the height is 1411 mm. The curb weight is 1520 kg.

The overall interior design of the most powerful "three" is no different from that of the Audi S3 Sportback - a leather-covered steering wheel with a beveled bottom rim, sports seats with a pronounced side profile, as well as RS3 nameplates.

The interior of the "hot" hatchback is trimmed with Nappa leather and Alcantara, which are diluted with carbon fiber, aluminum or high-gloss black overlays. For the "projectile" from Ingolstadt will also offer RS bucket seats with a carbon frame and integrated side airbags.

In terms of passenger and cargo, the five-door does not differ from the less powerful "brothers": its "apartments" are designed to accommodate five people, and the trunk can take from 335 to 1175 liters.

Specifications. In the engine compartment of the second generation Audi RS3 Sportback, a place is reserved for a 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI engine with an aluminum block, turbocharging, combined fuel injection and variable exhaust valve lift. It produces maximum 400 "stallions" at 5850-7000 rpm and 480 Nm of torque at 1700-5850 rpm (before modernization, it produced 367 hp and 465 N • m in the range from 1625 to 5550 rpm / min) - which automatically made this five-door the most powerful hot hatch in the world and allows it to remain so to this day.

Other key components of the machine are the 7-speed "robot" S tronic with a pair of clutches and the family quattro all-wheel drive transmission with an electro-hydraulic Haldex clutch of the fifth incarnation in the drive of the rear wheels.
This combination allows "Sportback" to leave behind the first "hundred" after 4.1 seconds (before the upgrade in 4.3 seconds) and reach a top speed of 250 km / h (for a fee, the electronic collar is weakened to 280 km / h).

The fuel economy indicators of the car are as follows - 8.3 liters of fuel per 100 km in the combined driving mode.

The "second" Audi RS3 Sportback (8V) is built on the modular MQB bogie. A McPherson circuit with aluminum steering knuckles is mounted in front, active shock absorbers are filled with magnetorheological fluid. The steering gear is equipped with an electromechanical amplifier.
A brake system with 370 mm discs on the front wheels and 310 mm on the rear with eight-piston calipers is responsible for slowing down the hatchback (carbon-ceramic brakes are available for additional money).

Options and prices. The restyled Audi RS3 Sportback will reach the Russian market only in the summer of 2017, but in the countries of the Old World it will appear in April. In Germany, car prices start at 54,600 euros (~ 3.32 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
The list of basic hot hatch equipment includes: seven airbags, heated front seats, dual-zone "climate", 19-inch wheels, ABS, ESP, leather interior, LED headlights and lanterns, premium "music", multimedia complex, assistance system parking and much more.
