At the Beijing International Motor Show in April 2014, Chery unveiled the new Tiggo 3 crossover, which received a modern appearance and noticeable improvements in the interior (in comparison with its predecessor - Tiggo FL).
In his homeland, he went on sale almost immediately after the premiere, but only reached the Russian market by February 2017 (but already “in the local assembly”, which was set up at the Derways plant in Cherkessk).
The appearance of Chery Tiggo 3 fully corresponds to the “family” direction of the Chinese brand - it looks attractive and fashionable. The front of the crossover flaunts "slanted" projector-type optics, a trapezoidal radiator grille with chrome-plated frames and a powerful bumper with a large "mouth" of air intakes, running light stripes and round foglights.
If the "face" of the car after the update has changed beyond recognition, then the profile gives out a pre-reform model - a slightly sloping hood, an almost flat roofline, asymmetric wheel arches and fairly compact wheels, discordant with the general proportions. In the design of the rear, the most pronounced elements are the huge tailgate with a wardrobe trunk for the spare wheel and compact lights.
The length of the Chinese crossover is 4420 mm, height - 1670 mm, width - 1760 mm. It has a distance of 2,510 mm between the front and rear axles, and a clearance of 190 mm from the bottom to the roadway.
The interior of the Tiggo 3 makes a solid impression with its design. Behind the multifunctional steering wheel is an informative instrument cluster with two radii of dials and an on-board computer display, and a 6.5-inch color screen of the multimedia center flaunts on the rounded upper part of the center console, below which there is a place for a modern "microclimate" control unit in the cabin.
Inside, the crossover from the Middle Kingdom meets with good-quality materials - inexpensive but pleasant plastics, diluted with silver-colored inserts that imitate metal, high-quality fabric in the seat upholstery.
The front seats of the Cherie Tiggo 3 are simple in appearance, but in fact have an optimal profile and sufficient adjustment ranges. In the back row, passengers will feel at ease, but there is not much room for the legs.
The luggage compartment of the SUV boasts a 520-liter volume and the ability to fold the back of the "gallery", but the wheel arches eat up a certain amount of space.
The spare wheel is outside, so underground there is an additional niche for luggage.
Specifications. The Tiggo 3 offers an uncontested 1.6-liter gasoline "aspirated", equipped with variable valve timing. The inline 16-valve "four" produces a maximum of 126 horsepower at 6150 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 3900 rpm.
As a partner for the engine are: 5-speed "mechanics", or continuously variable transmission CVT (in both cases, the thrust is supplied exclusively to the front wheels).
The first hundred "mechanical" crossover exchanges after 14 seconds, and it accelerates to 175 km / h, "automatic" is inferior in these exercises 1 second and 10 km / h, respectively. The "Chinese" appetite varies from 6.7 to 7.6 liters of fuel in combined mode.
At the heart of this car is a platform with McPherson struts in the front suspension and a multi-link in the rear axle design. All wheels are equipped with disc brakes, which are additionally equipped with ventilation in the front, and hydraulics act as a power steering.
Options and prices. In Russia, Chery Tiggo 3 2017 is offered in two equipment options - "Comfort" and "Luxury":
- The initial configuration "Comfort" is available at a price of 820,000 rubles. For this money, the buyer will receive a car equipped with: two airbags, an ABS system, air conditioning, heated front seats, an audio system (radio and mp3 player), rear parking sensors, cruise control and alloy wheels.
- In the "Luxury" package there are additionally: climate control, "leather" inserts on the seats, a multimedia system with a touchscreen monitor and a DVD-player. The cost of such a car with "mechanics" is 860,000 rubles, and with a "variator" - 940,000 rubles.
