"Hot" three-door KIA pro ceed GT

The International Auto Show in Geneva, held in March 2013, hosted many interesting premieres on its stage, and one of them was the "charged" three-door hatchback Kia pro_ceed GT with a sporty appearance and powerful "stuffing". The car allowed the Korean automaker to "step" into a new class for itself and raise its status in the eyes of buyers.

In 2015, the Koreans brought to the market a restyled three-door, which slightly freshened up externally and internally, and also received a new turbocharging system, which allowed, albeit insignificantly, to improve dynamic properties.

Against the background of the "civilian pro sid" of the second generation, its "warmed up" performance with the "GT" nameplate attracts the eye with a sporty ambience. The car stands out with a front bumper with a large air intake and square LED running lights, 18-inch openwork discs, as well as a pseudo-diffuser and two "pipes" of the exhaust system in the rear bumper.

For those who want to stand out “from the crowd”, but cannot afford a full-fledged “pro_ceed GT”, an optional “GT Line” package is available, which adds sportiness to the exterior and interior of the hatchback, but leaves out the technology.

The length of the three-door is 4310 mm, the width is 1780 mm, the height is 1485 mm, the length of the wheel base is 2650 mm. In general, full parity with the conventional model. The car has a clearance of 140 mm between the bottom and the roadbed.

But inside there are not so many differences from the standard hatchback: sportyly profiled Recaro seats, aluminum pedals, contrasting stitching with red thread, the abbreviation “GT” on the steering wheel and a modified animation of the instrument panel.

The rest of the decoration of the "charged" model is absolutely identical to that of the pro ceed of the second generation.

Specifications. The engine compartment of the Kia pro_ceed GT hides a gasoline 1.6-liter "turbo four" with direct injection, a twin-scroll turbocharger and variable valve timing technology, generating 204 "horses" at 6000 rpm and 265 Nm of ultimate thrust at 1500-4500 rpm ...

The torque is fully transferred to the front axle wheels by means of a 6-speed "mechanics" with "shortened" gears.

The three-door hot hatch makes the spurt to the first "hundred" in 7.6 seconds, with a peak speed of 230 km / h. Passport fuel consumption is 7.4 liters in mixed driving conditions.

Structurally, the Kia pro_ceed GT largely repeats the standard three-door: independent suspension of all axles (on the McPherson front strut, on the rear "multi-link"), brake discs on four wheels with modern "assistants" and an electric power steering. The differences lie in different chassis and steering settings, as well as more efficient brakes.

Options and prices. In Russia, the GT-version of the second generation Kia pro_ceed in 2015 is sold at a price of 1,129,900 rubles, for which you get: a zonal "climate", six airbags, a set of modern security systems, a multimedia installation, a standard audio system, sports front seats, 18 -inch "rollers", bi-xenon head light and other equipment.
