The five-door hatchback Chevrolet Lacetti debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2004, and in 2009 it was replaced by the global Cruise in the company's lineup. But the car did not retire even then, holding out on the assembly line until 2013. "Lacetti" was also presented on the Russian market, where it enjoyed stable demand throughout its life cycle.

Koreans once made a very harmonious car. Not even Koreans, but Italians - after all, they worked on the design of the Lacetti hatchback at the ItalDesign studio located in Turin. The five-door looks very dynamic, but not shocking. In any case, she does not collect surprised looks, and in the stream she is practically not striking.

The front of the Lacetti looks calm enough due to almond-shaped headlights, but the car immediately “shoots” aggressive taillights, beautiful multi-spoke wheels with a diameter of 15 inches (available versions - 14-inch “stamps”), as well as forward-tilted rear pillars. In expensive trim levels, the exterior is also emphasized by an elegant roof spoiler.

The golf hatchback is 4295 mm long, 1445 mm high and 1725 mm wide. The wheelbase of the Chevrolet Lacetti hatchback is fully consistent with the class canons - 2600 mm, and the ground clearance is also 162 mm. In running order, the car weighs from 1170 to 1210 kg (it all depends on the engine and the type of transmission).

The interior of the five-door Chevrolet Lacetti matches the appearance - it is dominated by smooth and smoothed lines, which speaks of its sports and youth orientation. An informative and easily readable dashboard, a well-arranged center console with logically located control bodies and, in general, high ergonomics indicators have made the hatchback a popular representative of its segment.

Regardless of the version, a standard CD-receiver is installed in the car, but the climate system control unit can be represented by either three air conditioner "knobs" or a full-fledged climate control with a small display (monochrome).

In the salon of the five-door "Lacetti", inserts for aluminum are widely used, which dilute inexpensive, but quite pleasant plastic. The steering wheel and gearshift lever are clad in leather, and in the top trim levels there are also seats. All parts are precisely matched to each other, which indicates a quality level of assembly.

The front hatchback seats are comfortable, but set up for a quiet driving style due to the lack of lateral support, but the adjustment ranges are wide (there is even a height adjustment). The rear sofa is shaped for two people, but there is enough space for three passengers, as evidenced by the corresponding number of head restraints.

By the standards of the C-class, the luggage compartment of the Chevrolet Lacetti hatchback is modest - only 275 liters of usable volume, but it can be increased to 1045 liters by leveling the rear seat with the floor. "Hold" has a convenient shape, the loading area is absolutely flat, the opening is moderate.

Specifications. The Chevrolet Lacetti hatchback was equipped with three gasoline engines, each of which was combined with a 5-speed "mechanics", and the two most powerful units were also equipped with a 4-speed "automatic".
The junior engine with a working volume of 1.4 liters generates a power of 95 horsepower (131 Nm of torque) and provides the car with acceptable dynamics. So it takes him 11.6 seconds to conquer the 100 km / h mark, and the speed gain will stop when it reaches 175 km / h.
The 1.6-liter engine plays the role of an intermediate one - its output has 109 forces and 150 Nm of ultimate thrust. If it is paired with "mechanics", then the first 100 km / h the car picks up in 10.7 seconds and accelerates to 187 km / h, and if with "automatic" - in 11.5 seconds and 175 km / h, respectively.
The top-end is the 1.8-liter "four" with a return of 121 forces (169 Nm of torque). Acceleration from zero to the first hundred in a powerful hatchback takes 9.8-10.9 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 187-195 km / h.

A car with a 1.4-liter engine is content with 7.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers in combined mode, but a more efficient unit requires 0.1 liters less fuel in the case of a manual gearbox and 0.9 liters more in conjunction with an automatic gearbox. The most powerful "Lacetti" consumes from 7.4 to 8.8 liters of fuel, depending on the gearbox (in favor of the "mechanics").

At the heart of the Chevrolet Lacetti hatchback is a "trolley" called the J200. The C-Class is equipped with a fully independent undercarriage. On the front axle, the suspension is represented by MacPherson struts, and on the rear axle - a multi-link design (in both cases there are anti-roll bars). The disc brakes and ABS are responsible for decelerating the vehicle.

Equipment and prices. In the secondary market of Russia, the Chevrolet Lacetti in a five-door solution is available at a price of 250,000 to 450,000 rubles (the cost at the beginning of 2015, strongly depends on the level of equipment and the installed engine-transmission link). But even the simplest hatchback cannot be called "empty" - there is an air conditioner, four power windows, airbags (for the driver and passenger), ABS, radio, PTF and heated external mirrors with an electric drive.
