In the annual automotive application of the famous magazine Consumer Reports, ratings were published - the ten best cars and ten worst cars in the world of 2008.

Among small sedans, the Korean Hyundai Elantra SE was recognized as the best. And the Korean SUV of the same brand - Hyundai Santa Fe took first place in the category of medium SUVs. This happened for the first time - when Korean cars hit the TOP-10 Consumer Reports.

In the category of family sedans, the Japanese car Honda Accord leads, and in the category of luxury sedans - the Infiniti G35. Lexus LS 460L was named the best "director's car".

In the small SUV category, the first place was taken by the Toyota RAV4. And among minibuses Toyota also took the first place - this is Toyota Sienna.

The best pickup truck is the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab (by the way, the first American car to make it into the TOP-10 in the last 4 years).

The most environmentally friendly car of 2008 was recognized as a car running on a gas-electric engine - Prius, of the Toyota concern.

And the best car in terms of driving was the Mazda MX-5 Miata convertible.

In the ranking of the worst cars of the year, the first position was taken by the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, which scored the least points - 17 out of a hundred possible.
In second place is the five-cylinder Hummer H3 (27 points), in third - Jeep Liberty Sport (27 points), in fourth - Chevrolet Aveo LS (32 points), and in fifth - Dodge Nitro SLT (33 points).
Next on the list are the worst: Toyota FJ Cruiser, base variant Toyota Yaris with manual transmission, Suzuki Forenza, Jeep Patriot Limited and Chevrolet Trail Blazer LT.
